Scientific Leadership
Our European Scientific Director is Rolf Schulte-Hermann, M.D., Ph.D. He is Professor and Head of the Division of Toxicology and Prevention and Former Director of the Institute of Cancer Research at the Medical University of Vienna. He is the Chairman of the Austrian Society of Toxicology and Corresponding Member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences.
Our U.S. Scientific Directors are:
Gerald N. Wogan, Ph.D. He is Emeritus Underwood-Prescott Professor of Toxicology and Chemistry, Former Director of the Division of Toxicology, Former Head of the Department of Applied Biological Sciences, and Founding Director of the MIT Center for Environmental Health Sciences at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Wogan has been elected to the National Academy of Sciences and to the Institute of Medicine/National Academy of Sciences.
Stephen I. Wasserman, M.D. He is Professor of Medicine and Past Chairman of the Department of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego, Past President of the American Academy of Allergy and Immunology, Past Chairman of the Board of Internal Medicine, Past Chairman of the Board of Allergy and Immunology, author of more than 200 medical and scientific papers, and served as advisor to numerous governmental research agencies and biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.
Robert B. Daroff, M.D. He was Professor, Past Chairman and is currently Interim Chairman of the Department of Neurology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He was also Chief of Staff and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at University Hospitals of Cleveland, and Vice Dean for Education and Academic Affairs at the School of Medicine. Dr. Daroff is a Past President of both the American Neurological Association and the American Headache Society. He has served as a member of the Executive Board of the American Academy of Neurology and is an elected Fellow of the American Neurological Society.
