Consensus Documents that Impact Decisions

Science Partners offers our clients a powerful approach that allows the scientific truth to determine the appropriate outcome: with full support and communication of our opinions and conclusions. Our services are intended to affect outcomes before multiple audiences: regulatory bodies, courts, citizens’ groups, physicians and patients, and the general public.

We deliver to our clients documents that unquestionably establish the medical and scientific consensus. Our documents contain a comprehensive assessment of all of the available product safety, efficacy and risk data, and present compelling opinions and conclusions.  They can be authored by as many of our world-renowned experts as desired by the client.  These documents:

Examine the issues from every possible perspective - for example, toxicological, biological, clinical, epidemiological, environmental, statistical, pharmacokinetic, chemical, and engineering.  This greatly enhances the power of the evidence.
Address the social value, overall product safety profile, or focus on specific adverse effects or uses

Perhaps our most well-known format is the consensus document. A consensus document examines a particular issue from every conceivable perspective, discusses all the available evidence, and presents a chain of reasoning that leads to an unassailable conclusion.  It is endorsed by sufficient experts in each of the relevant disciplines so as to be perceived to represent the overwhelming scientific and medical consensus.

Our documents are a powerful weapon for responding to regulatory safety concerns; addressing toxic tort, environmental or product liability causation and adverse effect issues; responding to regulatory intervention; overcoming media-generated unjustified safety fears; and addressing nationwide health, safety and environmental controversies.

We can work with you to publish the consensus document or an abbreviated version, or we can format the document so that it can be effectively used with the media, advocacy and professional groups.

Presenting the Scientific Truth

Once we have conducted our analysis, we can be retained to:

Advance the medical and scientific consensus through independent communication, whether before regulatory agencies, legislative bodies, media, patient and professional organizations or in the courtroom,
Present independent, authoritative scientific presentations and assessments to the EPA, FDA, State of California OEHHA, NIOSH, and EUROPEAN authorities including ECHA, IHCP, EMEA, SCCP, other regulatory bodies and EU Scientific committees
Engage in persuasive dialogue with regulatory bodies and legislators
Create forums to communicate important product safety or environmental information to medical and safety directors, physicians, citizen and community groups

Our partners are experts in communicating safety and risk information to important audiences.  They are adept at addressing regulatory and legislative bodies, courts, and the media.  Our experts are also highly experienced in directing and preparing multidisciplinary scientific documents on behalf of organizations such as the National Institutes of Health, the National Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Medicine, and the Institute of Engineering.

Our scientific partners are proactive in supporting their safety opinions and conclusions. While we do not function as traditional ‘expert witnesses’, we sponsor and present our opinions and conclusions in the courtroom, before regulatory bodies and safety panels, legislative assemblies, to the media, professional and citizen organizations, community groups and the public at large.
